The last thing I was looking for was a book on meditation. My shelves are filled with them. Then The Secular Buddhist came out with a podcast I couldn’t resist listening to Unlearning Meditation, Part 1 with Jason Siff. I decided to listen to the podcast, but not buy the book. But, by the end of the podcast, I shopped and bought the iBook Author: Dana Nourie. Unlearning meditation is a book about meditating by learning from one's own experiences, and is not another meditation book filled with exercises, techniques, and ideas on how to live your life. It teaches the meditator a way to look deeply into the meditate process as a way to gain trust in that process and develop independence in one's practice.

Art of Unlearning is an Innovator’s Manual. A guidebook for that rare human being who wishes to go beyond the resistance of their culture, and the limitations of their mind and body, in order to realize their innate potential. Whether you have months of retreat under your belt or have never been able to keep up a regular meditation practice, Tricycle Teachings: Meditation, Vol. 2 will help you breathe new life into your practice. This e-book offers practical tips, teachings, and practices from some of Tricycle’s most skilled meditation instructors, including Sharon Salzberg, Jack [ ].

Schubiner's book, Unlearn Your Pain, has been substantially revised for (third edition) and is now available. You can purchase a copy by clicking here. It includes all of the scientific information supporting the diagnosis of Mind Body Syndrome, a chapter to help people determine if they have Mind Body Syndrome, and the full program for healing.

I’m a huge fan of this book (and also of Jason’s previous one, Unlearning Meditation). I continue to dip into these books years after first buying them and I still find them wonderfully refreshing. Jason’s ideas about meditation are innovative and original.

The oversized, full color book complete with prizes at the back was designed as an on-ramp for first-time, teen, and would-be ADHD meditators.

(The rabbi includes instructions on using this book for parent-teen and just adult book clubs.) “Meditation is boring,” says Mayer. “There’s no way around that.

In his recent book Unlearning Meditation: What to Do When the Instructions Get in the Way, Jason Siff discusses the concept of “unlearning.”He says that unlearning means “seeing into the habits of mind that create obstacles and impasses.”.

Unlearning the Basics challenges many of our commonsense understandings and offers a new way of seeing. Grounded in the Buddhist tradition yet completely free from the formulas of traditional presentations, this book examines concepts of love and grasping, as well as what happens when the need for love meets "the great unfixables".
